Ice Skating in Paris

ice skate eiffel tower.jpgWhat better way to experience the beauty of Paris in the winter than ice skating?  Here are some places around the city that offer such fun:

Eiffel Tower.
On December 15, the Eiffel Tower opens a skating rink on the 1er étage (first floor), where you can rent ice skates and skate on a mini-rink with a fantastic view of Paris.  Open from 10:30-10:30 each day, the skating rink will remain open until January 31, 2012.  You can buy hot chocolate, spiced wine, pretzels, and rent skaets  More information can be found here.

Hotel de Ville.
Every year this rink is packed with local Parisians, as well as, tourists who want to experience this winter activity beside the historical beauty of Hotel de Ville. Admission to the rink is free, but there is a 5€ fee to rent skates. Centrally located along the river and beside Le Marais, this rink is open Mon-Sat from 12pm-10pm and Sun from 9am-10pm until February 17, 2011. Metro: Hotel de Ville.

Tour Montparnasse.
At the base of the Montparnasse Tower, you will find an ice-skating rink for everyone to enjoy.    There is also 5€ fee to rent skates here but otherwise admission to the rink is free. This rink is open Monday – Friday 12pm-8pm and Saturdays and Sundays 9am-8pm until March 5th, 2011. Metro: Montparnasse-Bienvenue which serves lines 4, 6, 12, and 13.  After a few spins and twirls, take a visit to the top of the tower for a grandiose view of the City of Lights!

    There is no ice rink near Tour Montparnasse in the 2011-2012 season!
