A woman in white dress and black shoes doing ballet

Swan Lake — Opera Bastille in Paris

The Paris Ballet debuts its first performance of the season of Swan Lake on Monday, November 29th, at Opera Bastille. Tchaikovsky’s first ballet echoes with extraordinary gentleness and melancholy. Marius Petipa adopted the work in 1895 and created the legend of the dancer-swan who would become the ballerina par excellence. Rudolf Nureyev’s version of the characters, as performed by the Paris ballet, assumes their full psychological depth bringing a more profound dimension to this sumptuous action ballet. Swan Lake is performed through January 5. For reservations click here.
